Facebook..the social network.

...Facebook, the social network. So annoying at times and so addictive!

These days if you don't have facebook, it seems then that you're not human! LOL..for real though! It's funny, it use to be you'd ask someone for their phone number and now it's like do you have facebook?! And that's our main form of communication...crazy!

I admit, I am totally addicted to facebook...I don't think it's an unhealthy addiction...YET! :p BUT, I am on there checking notifications and statuses throughout the day! And I do update my statuses frequently, which I'm sure can be annoying for others, hahaha...IDK why, but I just feel like I need to type my stuff in that little box that asks "what's on your mind?" LOL!

Now, the part that is so annoying to me is people that only add you as a friend to be nosey, look at your pictures, and see what's going on with your life, but yet they don't talk to you on there! I absolutely hate that! So...I found a solution! ha!
I decided that my facebook is gonna be more private, as it is personal...I share things that I don't want random strangers knowing.
So, earlier today I deleted about 100 people, haha...seriously, they didn't belong on my facebook for numerous reasons...either they are too dramatic, attention seekers, or I just never talked to them. Now, let me get back to the dramatic ones..there's this one crazy, physho insane ex friend that I had just recently...well, for whatever reason she became a very bitter person, I know she's a very depressed person and I won't go into much detail because I'm not going to stoop that low, but it's unfortunate that a friendship had to end, let alone ending in a crazy and dramatic way...she literally went crazy on me...like scary crazy, almost to the point where I was considering getting a restraining order on her! Well, without getting into detail, she decided to use her friends against me..adding me on facebook to be nosey, and I was stupid and just kind of finally caught on..haha. Pathetic what people do though, seriously...my life is that interesting that you need to stay updated with my facebook...ughhhh, I'm just so frustrated and annoyed with those people! I really don't have the time or energy to keep up with them..and I will admit I have more class than that! Anyways, sorry for the rant...but my point is, do NOT add me to facebook unless you're going to talk to me or we're friends.

Yes, I guess I am being a little dramatic with this post...but why can't facebook just be a positive atmosphere?! Grrrrr! I am such a down to earth person, I love people....I give EVERYONE a chance without judging....I have many friends...many from all different groups(I say groups, meaning our groups of friends from highschool...I hung out with everyone!) I just wish this popularity thing ended years ago...it seriously doesn't matter how many friends you have, what matters the most to me is the ones who are going to be true to me, and appreciate/respect me as a person! Simple, really.

Alright, enough with all that...I think I'm hormonal....that's the reasoning for this post, pahahaha!

Enjoy your Thursday! :o)

Art Fair!

"Art is not a thing; it is a way"

*Another proud mom moment! All my posts lately seem to be about Tay but the girl is doing such amazing things lately, how can I not brag?!

She was selected to be in our districts art fair for the month of March, how awesome!!!!! She was one of two people chosen for 1st grade, her and another boy. So I guess we found her talent!!!! :o) I mean, now looking back I should have saw sooner how talented she is and how much she enjoys art and to draw, there's always papers around our house with her little drawings, which some are just pure amazement!
I don't know where she gets it from, JJ & I have absolutely no drawing abilities! Ha...although my uncle and cousin are artists so maybe that's where it comes from?!

So now I'm looking around in our area for some art classes for her for the summer, I want to keep her motivated and going with her artistic self! Plus, I don't want her home all day during the summer, I want to keep her busy little body going! :P

..HOPE.

"There is more happiness in giving than in receiving."

..I've been feeling so sympathetic lately, it's definitely my hormones! I mean, generally I'm a very compassionate person to begin with BUT every time I turn the news on I'm bawling my eyes out over all this devastation and destruction around the world. It's so depressing.

Well, of course the recent devastation of the Japan earthquake & tsunami has had me in tears, I sit on my couch just despaired. I know I can donate to the Red Cross to help them out but I want to do more! I want to go to Japan and take all the orphan kids back home with me...seriously, if I had the space and money to do so, it'd be one of my top priorities but unfortunately the most I can do is pray for the people in Japan and donate our money to help them. It just doesn't feel like enough though.

Taylor's teacher has been discussing what's going on over in Japan, everyday she's telling me new things about what's happening over there, she's so saddened and concerned about the people. Her teacher asked the class what they could do to help these people who have lost so much, so Taylor comes home and tells me she'd like to sell some of her clothes and toys to help raise money for those in Japan. She melts my heart...way too compassionate!
I am so proud of the fact that she's willing to give up her prized possessions, things she's begged for, for Christmas and birthdays, items she's bought with her allowance after having to save for months to get it.
It sure makes a mother proud to hear your 6 year old child wanting to help others, even if it means she'll be down a few toys, it's just pure generosity!

I think us American's need to do more, I realize a lot of people are strugging financially themselves but just to give $10 helps! To say a little prayer of hope to these people, it goes a long ways! And it's such an amazing feeling to know you've done a good deed!

*Taylor's class is selling cookies to help raise money...this is what she wrote at home one night all on her own! Awwwww, I'm so proud I want to frame it! :P

My SyFy child..

...Our daughter, Taylor is our little science girl! Her favorite channel on TV is the SyFy channel and she is so into the earth and it's creatures. It's cute! Ever since she was a tyke she was out in the weeds catching bugs with her bug catcher, digging in the dirt collecting rocks, and wanting to make "experiments."

Well, she is in 1st grade so they have the option on whether or not they want to participate in the science fair, of course she did! So, after debating and "arguing" with her over numerous topics, letting her know that some were a bit too difficult and above her level...we settled on doing the egg and vinegar experiment.

Last week was the science fair and she did great! The judges asked the parents to leave the area so the children could each present their presentations/experiments so I was a bit bummed I didn't get to hear her give hers but she received a red ribbon and apparently did well!!!!!! She was soooo proud and it made me even more proud to see her so confident and happy with herself of her accomplishment! She's growing up!

*This is the egg on the 4th day of it being submerged in vinegar. The vinegar is starting to completely dissolve the shell, it's becoming translucent, and feels like a rubber ball! It's soooo neat!

*7th day, the final day...the egg is basically completely transparent...you can see the sac inside.

*As soon as we put the egg in the vinegar, it had a bubble reaction.

*Tay and her ribbon! Proud little girl!!!!

Five Question Friday!

...Another Friday! These weeks are going by super fast! I don't know if it's because I'm pregnant so I'm really counting down the weeks or if it's just life in general...regardless, it all is going by wayyy too fast! :/

Unfortunately we are kind of stuck at home this weekend as JJ is working both jobs and a lot of hours at each, I hate that! But with us having to pay in for taxes this year, it sure helps financially!

Alright...here are the questions, I hope y'all have a lovely weekend!

1. Have you ever testified in court? For what? Thankfully "he" pleaded guilty before I even had to testify. I was the victim in this case, at 13 years old when I was molested by a family member...something I just recently decided to talk about, I think Oprah inspired me! :P
As she just recently told her story about how she went through it as a child/young teen.

2. Do you still have your wedding dress? Arrrrrrrrr! Hopefully I will soon be an owner of a wedding dress! We are going on 8 years this May, so it'd be nice to tie the knot here shortly! ;)

3. Is there a special place you like to go when you're happy, sad, stressed, etc.? I don't have many options but it's either to go take a bubble or in my bedroom to read a book. But with two kids it doesn't last long! JJ & I are planning on a baby moon here sometime this spring/early summer so that'll be our escape from the "stress!"

4. If you have kids, do they sleep with you? If you don't have kids...will you let your kids sleep with you when/if you have them? I am a firm believer in co sleeping with my children. Our girls have slept with us their first 2 years and I wouldn't have it any other way! Besides reading up on the pro's and agreeing with them, it's so much easier for us because I breastfeed and I don't have to interrupt the baby's sleep too much, plus I'm one of those over protected moms who CONSTANTLY check on their baby to make sure they're still breathing, it's just so comforting and reassuring to have our children sleep with us. And both of our girls have willingly moved themselves into their own bedroom when they were each around 2 years old, perfect time! :o)

5. Do you watch late night TV? Nahhhh, not really. Nowadays I can't make it past 9pm, I'm usually in bed by 8pm most nights. But the one late night show I did like to watch was Chelsea Lately...love that girl!

Five Question Friday! ***On a Monday!

..What the heck was I thinking OR not thinking in this case!
I totally forgot to do "Five Question Friday" last Friday! Hello! It's like my favorite post, how did I forget!? I know it's over due but I'm still gonna do it! :o)

1. Do you know what your REAL hair color is? ha, yes...only because I haven't dyed my hair in like 5 months, my roots are HORRID...thankfully I have an appt. to get my hair done on the 24th!

2. Do you plan ahead for summer, or fly by the seat of your pants? Ummm...well we always take a vacation in July so that's always planned ahead, which it is already and I am stoked for the 4th of July this year! I am in desperate need of a vacation, although this year will not be too relaxing, as we're going to The Dells BUT we got a 3 bedroom condo..and it's amazing and very luxurious!
It's actually bigger then our house, LOL...that's horrible! So...while the fam is doing stuff that this full blown preggers will be at the time, I probably will stay back and relax in the whirlpool or sit out on the patio and enjoy the lakeview that we'll have! Awwwwwww, can't wait!

3. What is your favorite meal to cook? Hhmm..whatever is the easiest, ha! I'd say whatever has the most veggies...I LOVE chopping up vegetables and pretending I'm Rachael Ray with my own cooking show! pahaha! :P

4. Do you get offended by not receiving thank yous? Not usually but when I have done something kind of extravagant for a friend, like throwing them a baby shower it's very appreciated! I just don't get how some people "forget" to fill out thank yous! I guess, I'm one of those people who write thank yous out for attending our child's birthday party, I like to show my appreciation and thanks!

5. How did you meet your best friend? JJ, we met in high school...I started at a new school the middle of junior year. We had science class together...I was sitting down at the table and he came and sat next to me and gave me what was the worst "pick up line" EVER! He asked "Are you still mad at me?" I was soooo darn confused, I've never met this guy before, let alone never even talked to him! What a freak! Well, we had a few mutual friends...they were telling me JJ was really into me, LOL...awwwww! But he was too shy to ask me out. Well, throughout the next couple weeks he started buying me things and bringing them to school to give to me...he was sooooo good about showering me with presents back then! Well, then eventually asked me out....and the rest is history! We are going on 8 years this May! xoxo.

Advice & parenting.

“Self-confidence gives you the freedom to make mistakes and cope with failure without feeling that your world has come to an end or that you are a worthless person.”

I just got done reading a blog, talking about advice for parents! And the one main thing was DON'T give advice at all! That got me thinking...does it really bother people, more so new parents when you offer them advice?!
I never thought of it being annoying or rude. I admit, I am one to let a new parent know what diapers are the best, what items are just a complete waste of money to buy for a new baby, and sleep when the baby sleeps, etc!

I, myself don't mind advice at all, I mean...I guess I do when someone is telling me how to raise my children or I'm doing something wrong, THAT definitely is annoying and rude! But when you're letting a parent know the best places to shop and the must haves for kids I would think most parents would be appreciative of that!

Maybe I need to keep my mouth shout more...Ekkkk! I don't want to be "that person", the one who thinks she knows it all! :/
Because I am sooooo far from that, I have a lot of improvement to do as a parent, I fail some days, my kids are mad at me because I didn't buy them a candy bar at the store, or I'd rather give them a bath in the morning, not before bed! They let me know I'm a mean mommy some days, ha!

However, I know I am a VERY opinionated person and sometimes I voice my opinions at times when I shouldn't. It's something I really need to control and work on, ughhhh.

And I have to say there is soooo much judgement in this world, especially being a parent...all eyes are on you when you're out in public.
And breastfeeding seems to be one of the biggest judgements on whether or not you're a good mother. If you formula feed, you're lazy and a horrible parent.
If you get an epidural during labor, you're weak!
I mean, there's so much pressure to be the perfect parent!
But we need to realize every mom and dad has a different style of parenting, whether it be cultural or environment or just how you were raised..sticking to the good ole' fashioned ways! We, as mothers just need to be confident and just love our babies, raise them the best way we know how, regardless what "Parents" magazine or the "know it alls" are telling us to do and not to do!

Love will keep us together
